Control board

Boards of clickable buttons that trigger actions without a game event. They are available in both the Event Lab and the Overwolf app.

Control board with synthetic stream actions

Button modes

  • Fire an event: emits an event (game, feature, event name, JSON data) into the normal rule pipeline, so rule conditions, templates, and cooldowns apply. If no enabled rule matches, the button reports it and links to Create a rule.
  • Run actions directly: runs its own ordered action sequence, with the same delays and templates as rules. {{data...}} refers to the button’s event data.

Presses follow the global Dry run / Live switch. The Overwolf app always runs live.

Custom games

For games without GEP support, create a custom game from the button editor, such as custom:elden-ring. Custom games appear in the game lists in Event rules, Event Lab, and the Control board. You can rename or delete them in Settings.

Layout and appearance

  • Multiple boards, each with 1-12 columns and a small, medium, or large tile size.
  • Width 1-4 and height 1-3 cells per button. Use Edit layout to reorder by drag and drop, or with the move earlier/later buttons. In edit mode, each tile also has a trash icon to delete it without opening its settings. Deleting a button always asks for confirmation.
  • Label, subtitle, color, and an icon from the lucide library, an emoji, or an uploaded image. Images are resized to 128 px and stored inline as WebP or PNG, with a cap of about 200 KB per icon.
  • Each press shows success, preview, error, or no-match feedback. A per-button cooldown shows a progress bar and ignores presses until it ends.

Local storage holds roughly 5 MB per origin, so keep image icons small.

Import and export

Boards are included in the full configuration export. In edit mode, Export board saves a single board, with its custom games and the names of the connections it uses. Import board adds it as a new board with fresh IDs. It matches connections by ID, then by name, and fails with a list of any missing connections instead of importing broken buttons.
