YouTube source
Watches YouTube live chat with the YouTube Data API: chat messages, Super Chats, Super Stickers, memberships, and stream online/offline. It can watch your own channel and any public channel, so a moderator or viewer account can follow a channel it does not own.
Google OAuth client
YouTube is a StreamPulse Pro feature. Stream Pulse supplies the Google application. Users never enter a client ID or secret. Browser authorization runs through the managed gateway, which keeps Google access and refresh tokens server-side. The app stores only channel metadata and a revocable gateway device session.
Existing device-code sign-ins must sign in again. Legacy user-provided Google credentials and local Google tokens are discarded during migration. Operators configure the application using the gateway setup.
Accounts
In Connections > Accounts, add a YouTube account:
- Sign in accounts: unlock Pro under Settings > Pro License, open Sign-in settings, optionally tick Allow actions (needed for the YouTube destination), then Sign in with YouTube. Open the gateway link, confirm its phrase, and approve access on Google. The account must have a YouTube channel.
- Read-only accounts never sign in. Enter the channel’s
@handle(or a channel ID starting withUC); saving verifies it with one of your signed-in YouTube accounts. Use them to watch another channel’s chat, or as the target of chat and moderation actions.
See Accounts for roles and read-only accounts.
Source settings
In Connections > Sources, add a YouTube source:
- YouTube account: the signed-in account that reads chat. It does not need to own the channels; any account can read public live chat.
- Channels to watch: your own channel and any other YouTube accounts, such as read-only ones. One source can watch several channels.
- Events and Chat poll interval.
When a watched channel is offline, the source waits and checks again: every
minute for your own channel, every 5 minutes for other channels. When the stream
ends, it sends stream.offline and waits for the next one.
Events
Events appear under the YouTube (source) game with feature livechat.
Chat history from before the source started is skipped.

data includes id (message ID), channel (handle or title), channelId,
message, and author (channelId, name, isModerator, isOwner,
isMember, isVerified, profileImageUrl). The original API item is in
data.raw. In rules, the condition builder offers Channel, Author,
Message, Amount and similar fields, so one rule can handle several
channels.
API quota
All accounts share the operator’s Google project quota. Pro does not guarantee unlimited YouTube API capacity. Raise the poll interval and watch only the channels you need. Quota errors appear in the source status and the source retries with backoff. Operators must plan capacity and, if needed, request more quota before launch.
